December always carries a special kind of magic. No matter where you are in the world, Christmas has a way of bringing people together—through lights, laughter, and the comfort of traditions. What fascinates me most is how different cultures celebrate in their own unique ways, yet at the heart of it all, we share something universal: the joy of gathering, giving, and finding hope in the season.

From the vibrant parrandas in Latin America to the cozy Christmas markets of Europe, each tradition tells a story. In Mexico, families celebrate with posadas, reenacting Mary and Joseph’s search for shelter. In Germany, children eagerly await St. Nicholas on December 6th. In El Salvador, fireworks light up the sky on Christmas Eve. And in Canada, we bundle up for snowy evenings filled with hot cocoa and carols. Different customs, different flavors—but all rooted in love, community, and renewal.

This year, I’ll be experiencing Christmas in a way that feels both familiar and restorative. I’m heading back to Europe—a place that has always been my healing ground. Paris, especially, feels like going home. There’s something about its rhythm, its food, its vibe, that allows me to exhale and recharge. Spain and France will be our destinations, and I’m already dreaming of wandering through artisan shops, discovering handmade treasures, and savoring meals that linger in memory long after the last bite.

It’s not just a trip; it’s a pause. As much as I adore writing and fostering pups, sometimes the heart needs space to heal. This journey is about reinvigoration, about stepping away so I can return with fresh perspective and renewed energy.

So while I’ll be taking a short break from writing, I’ll carry the spirit of Christmas with me—its reminder that even across oceans and cultures, we share the same longing for connection, joy, and peace. And when I return, I hope to bring back not only stories and gifts, but also a deeper sense of inspiration to share with you all.

Diciembre siempre trae consigo una magia especial. No importa en qué parte del mundo estés, la Navidad tiene la capacidad de unir a las personas—con luces, risas y la calidez de las tradiciones. Lo que más me fascina es cómo cada cultura celebra de manera única, y sin embargo, en el fondo, compartimos lo mismo: la alegría de reunirnos, de dar y de encontrar esperanza en esta temporada.

Desde las vibrantes parrandas en América Latina hasta los acogedores mercados navideños de Europa, cada tradición cuenta una historia. En México, las familias celebran con posadas, recreando la búsqueda de refugio de María y José. En Alemania, los niños esperan con ilusión a San Nicolás el 6 de diciembre. En El Salvador, los fuegos artificiales iluminan el cielo en Nochebuena. Y en Canadá, nos abrigamos para noches nevadas llenas de chocolate caliente y villancicos. Costumbres distintas, sabores diferentes—pero todas nacen del amor, la comunidad y la renovación.

Este año viviré la Navidad de una forma que se siente familiar y a la vez sanadora. Regreso a Europa—un lugar que siempre ha sido mi espacio de sanación. París, en especial, se siente como volver a casa. Hay algo en su ritmo, su comida, su ambiente, que me permite respirar y recargarme. España y Francia serán nuestros destinos, y ya sueño con recorrer tiendas artesanales, descubrir tesoros hechos a mano y saborear comidas que se quedan en la memoria mucho después del último bocado.

No es solo un viaje; es una pausa. Por más que ame escribir y cuidar perritos, a veces el corazón necesita espacio para sanar. Este viaje es para reinspirarme, para alejarme un poco y regresar con una nueva perspectiva y energía renovada.

Así que aunque tomaré un pequeño descanso de la escritura, llevaré conmigo el espíritu de la Navidad—ese recordatorio de que, incluso a través de océanos y culturas, compartimos el mismo deseo de conexión, alegría y paz. Y cuando regrese, espero traer no solo historias y regalos, sino también una inspiración más profunda para compartir con todos ustedes.
