Community, Creativity, and Cars: A Special Event Coming to High Park

Something exciting is rolling into the High Park area — and this time, it’s more than polished chrome and roaring engines. I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be hosting a community car show in collaboration with Viva Pets, our neighborhood’s go‑to spot for pet lovers, and in support of Zoe’s Animal Rescue.

Viva Pets may not be a massive chain or a long‑established landmark, but for the people who know it, it’s an important part of daily life — a place where pet owners are greeted by name, where the staff genuinely care, and where a small team of dedicated women (and one very kind man) work hard to support the animals and families in our community. Partnering with them feels meaningful, intentional, and aligned with the kind of visibility I’m trying to build as a local creator.

I’m keeping most details of the event under wraps for now, but I can say this: it’s designed to bring families together, celebrate creativity, and uplift the people who make High Park feel like home. My children’s book series Book of Dog will be part of the celebration, along with a few surprises I’m saving for the day of. Think of it as a gentle blend of imagination, community spirit, and a shared love for the pets who inspire so many of our stories.

Supporting Zoe’s Animal Rescue adds another layer of heart to this event. Their work changes lives, and I’m honored to help amplify their mission through a gathering that’s fun, family‑friendly, and rooted in kindness.

Comunidad, Creatividad y Autos: Un Evento Especial que Llega a High Park

Algo emocionante está llegando al área de High Park — y esta vez, es más que cromo brillante y motores rugiendo. Me emociona compartir que estaré organizando un show de autos comunitario en colaboración con Viva Pets, el lugar favorito de muchos amantes de las mascotas en nuestro vecindario, y en apoyo a Zoe’s Animal Rescue.

Viva Pets quizá no sea una gran cadena ni un establecimiento histórico, pero para quienes lo conocen, es una parte importante de la vida diaria — un lugar donde los dueños de mascotas son recibidos por su nombre, donde el personal realmente se preocupa, y donde un pequeño equipo de mujeres dedicadas (y un hombre muy amable) trabaja duro para apoyar a los animales y a las familias de nuestra comunidad. Colaborar con ellos se siente significativo, intencional y alineado con la visibilidad que estoy tratando de construir como creadora local.

Por ahora mantengo la mayoría de los detalles del evento en secreto, pero sí puedo decir esto: está diseñado para reunir a las familias, celebrar la creatividad y elevar a las personas que hacen que High Park se sienta como hogar. Mi libro infantil Penny’s Tail será parte de la celebración, junto con algunas sorpresas que estoy guardando para el día del evento.
